An innovation that changes the rules: the first non replicable finishever applied to a bicycle saddle. Liquid Stone debuts on the Selle SMP EVO20C and EVO30C models.
In cycling we measure everything: weight, watts, stiffness, aerodynamics.
But a bike is more than numbers — it’s something you choose because it represents you.
With Liquid Stone, the saddle stops being just a component and becomes part of the rider’s identity, enhancing both bike aesthetics and bike customization.
It all begins with the material.
During production, pigments move and blend across the surface, creating veins, transitions, and organic textures that are always different.
There is no template. No repeatable pattern.
No two Liquid Stone surfaces are identical — just like in nature.
Liquid Stone is not a simple color variant of the EVO20C and EVO30C saddles.
There is no fixed layout, no orientation, no matching pair.
Each saddle has its own distribution of tones and movement.
You can choose the same model, but you will never have the same saddle — a real bike upgradethat blends function and expression.
The EVO range continues to deliver what defines it, maintaining the perfect balance of performance, stability, and control:

A balance built to last — on the road and on gravel bikes, where comfort and control are essential.
The EVA padding is the heart of the EVO range.
It’s not chosen for softness, but for its controlled response: it compresses just enough to absorb vibrations, returns immediately to its original shape, and ensures stability even under high effort.
This translates into real endurance comfort, especially on long distance rides where the body is under continuous stress.
EVA prevents pressure points, improves support, and helps maintain an efficient position over time without compromising the stiffness needed for power transfer.
Liquid Stone adds an aesthetic layer that never repeats: the saddle remains a unique, non replicable element with its own identity.
It’s a natural extension of the Selle SMP philosophy “Designed on Your Body”: the shape adapts to the cyclist to enhance ergonomic function, and now the surface follows the same principle.
Technique and material meet.
Function stays.
Expression evolves.

Selle SMP opens a road no one had taken before, merging cycling innovation, technology, and material expression in a way that recalls nature and celebrates the individuality of every rider.

There are seasons that don’t just change the rankings — they change the way an athlete looks at himself. For Filippo Fontana, this was one of those seasons. A solid, consistent year, built without noise but with a clarity rarely seen in such a young rider. A journey that led him all the way to fifth place at the World Championships, a result that marked a clear before and after. And along that path, even the technical details — like choosing the Selle SMP F20C saddle — played a key role.
Paradoxically, everything started with a forced stop. An injury that sidelined him for about two months, breaking his preparation and drastically shortening his season.
“After the injury on June 6th, my first race was on August 23rd. With such a short MTB season, I couldn’t find continuity, so cyclocross became my real training ground.”
What for many would have been a limitation became an opportunity for Filippo.
“Cyclocross has always been a continuation of MTB for me, almost a personal passion. But this year, with fewer mountain bike races, I could dedicate more energy to it.”
The goal was simple: break into the top ten. At the World Championships, instead, no specific expectations — just the desire to race for real.
“After the first two laps, I realized my legs were really there. The sensations were exactly right.”

No superstitions, no pre-race rituals.
“I’m a calm person. I listen to some music, relax. The important thing is to be ready at the start.”
A simplicity that isn’t superficiality, but clarity — the same clarity that allowed him to read the race with surgical precision.
In cyclocross, details are everything. And sometimes, the detail is a tire.
“I was one of the few to start on dry tires. I felt confident, the course was fairly dry. When it started raining in the last two laps, I switched bikes immediately. It was a huge advantage.”
You don’t need complex tactics when you have the cool head to manage your race pace and the sensitivity to understand when the terrain is changing under your wheels.

In cyclocross, the setup doesn’t change dramatically — it gets refined.
“The position stays the same; what changes are the tires. The riding style between MTB and cross is different, but the position remains.”
And then there’s the saddle — often underestimated, but decisive when the course turns into a battlefield.
“With mud, you need to be dynamic. You need a saddle that lets you move but still gives you stability when you push on the nose, especially in MTB. The Selle SMP F20C does exactly that: stable, yet free.”
In recent years, Filippo notes, even amateurs have realized how much the saddle influences handling. A detail that is no longer a detail — especially with technical products like Selle SMP, designed to deliver performance and comfort even in extreme conditions.
Cyclocross is a constant balance between power and control.
Filippo isn’t a “delicate” rider:
“I adapt to the equipment; I’m not hypersensitive.”
And perhaps it’s precisely this adaptability that allows him to find the feeling everyone looks for: the bike responding exactly as it should, exactly when it matters.
Training changes, evolves, but the logic stays the same:
“In cross you work on short, repeated high-intensity efforts — continuous explosions for an hour. In MTB, the efforts are longer, with long recoveries.”
Two different worlds, one engine.
Cyclocross is tough, yes. But it’s also pure fun.
“You can’t be afraid of cold, mud, or darkness. If that scares you, better stick to the road. In cross, you have to throw yourself in.”
And if there’s one place to fall in love with this sport, Filippo has no doubts:
“The race in Vittorio Veneto. Beautiful, perfect for training and for experiencing the atmosphere.”
After a season like this, what motivates him most?
“The awareness that I can be at the front. Continuing to improve, keeping the desire alive.”
His MTB season will restart in Verona in mid-March, with an international race. A new beginning, backed by the confidence of someone who has just discovered how big his potential really is — and with the certainty of relying on trustworthy equipment like the F20C saddle, a silent but decisive companion in an unforgettable year.

Facing the Silk Road Mountain Race is not just about racing: it’s a journey within. An unforgiving, fascinating and deeply transformative challenge. Thousands of kilometers through Kyrgyzstan’s wild mountains, where the terrain is relentless, the weather shifts in an instant and every pedal stroke is an act of pure endurance. In competition there’s no room for compromise. That’s why Nacho trusts the Selle SMP EVO20C: aggressive ergonomics, racing-oriented fit and unwavering support designed to deliver maximum power transfer, positional precision and lasting comfort. The ultimate ally to push beyond the limit.
Nacho didn’t choose this race to win. He chose it to live. To listen to himself. To discover how far the body and above all the mind can go.
“The SRMR is one of the toughest races in the world,” he says. “I wanted to prepare for the Iditarod Trail Invitational in Alaska and this was the perfect test for both mental and physical endurance.”
Within his Road to Iditarod project, Nacho alternates between extreme winter expeditions such as in Lapland and ultra-distance bikepacking races. Every kilometer is a stepping stone toward his ultimate goal: taking on Alaska.
“It’s been a tough year,” Nacho admits. “Training while balancing work and personal commitments isn’t easy.” But with the right support and his own mental training method, Nacho has learned to stay in the moment. Riding with no music, no distractions. Just him, the bike and the suffering.
For those who know the Silk Road Mountain Race, crossing the finish line is already a victory. As Nacho puts it: “I want to enjoy the journey: the landscapes, the culture, the people.”
In an adventure every detail matters and the Selle SMP EVO20C saddle made the difference.
“This year alone I’ve ridden nearly 10,000 km with this saddle,” Nacho shares. “It’s incredibly comfortable. The material adapts to your body and keeps its shape from the first to the last pedal stroke.”
For endurance riders, comfort is everything and the EVO20C is designed for those who live cycling as a lifestyle.
Tips for Getting Started with Ultra-Distance CyclingNacho is clear: “Enjoy what you do. You don’t need to race. You can ride to test your limits, to challenge yourself.” And if you decide to compete, then train. A lot. But first, live the experience.
“Ultracycling has taken me to mental places I didn’t know existed,” Nacho explains. “It’s an inner journey. Every race is a new discovery of myself.” And then there’s the community: riders becoming friends, countries discovered by bike, cultures experienced kilometer after kilometer.

It took Nacho five years to feel ready. Here’s what he considers essential for extreme bikepacking:
“Addiction.” Because it’s addictive. Because it changes you. Because once you start, you can’t stop.

For Nacho, ultra-cyclist and extreme adventurer, limits don’t exist. This summer, he’ll take the Selle SMP logo across the dusty trails of Kyrgyzstan for the legendary Silk Road Mountain Race (SRMR)—a bold preparation for one of the toughest endurance events on earth: the Iditarod Trail Invitational, cycling through Alaska's frozen wilderness.
The “Road to Iditarod” project was born from Nacho’s need to test his body and mind in extreme conditions. After an Arctic expedition in Lapland, he chose the SRMR to push his mental resilience. “I want to be ready for anything. The SRMR is harsh, unpredictable, and perfect for mental endurance,” he explains.
Nacho’s routine blends indoor training, long solo rides, and meditative moments—no music, no distractions. With a coach guiding him for over five years, he’s built a mindset where ultra cycling becomes a balanced part of life alongside personal commitments.

“My goal is simply to finish the SRMR. That alone would be a huge achievement.” But beneath the surface lies a dream: completing it in under 8 days. Nacho wants to experience breathtaking landscapes, connect with local cultures, and savor each moment—far from stopwatch pressure.
After clocking nearly 10,000 km this year, Nacho has zero doubts: the SMP EVO20C saddle is his go-to for long-distance cycling. Its innovative materials adapt to the body and stay comfortable from first to final pedal stroke.
Nacho believes ultra cycling isn’t just about racing: “Do it for yourself. Explore your limits, enjoy the ride, and if you want to compete, train hard.” The key is respecting yourself and your journey.

“I’ve never felt emotions this intense,” Nacho says, describing ultra races as inner journeys and gateways to friendships and cultures. His most extreme challenge? Riding 400 km across snow and ice in Lapland, following the path of the Finnmarksløpet.
Top 5 essentials to conquer the SRMR:
Yes, you read that right. For Nacho, endurance cycling is a healthy addiction—a nonstop search for raw emotions and personal triumphs.

In the world of bike touring, finding the right saddle position can make the difference between an unforgettable adventure and a ride plagued by discomfort and pain. Bike fitting and a properly selected bike saddle aren't minor details—they're key elements that ensure comfort, injury prevention, and maximum efficiency with every pedal stroke.
With the expertise of Nicola Amadini – N2 Bike Fit and the support of Selle SMP, we explore the benefits of a personalized bike fitting, showing how a well-designed saddle that respects human anatomy can prevent pain, improve stability, and completely transform your cycling experience.
Many cyclists ignore their body's signals until the pain becomes unbearable. But waiting for discomfort to intervene is a mistake!
Warning signs:
Solution: rethink weight distribution and choose a bike saddle designed for human anatomy. Selle SMP, with its innovative cut-out design, minimizes pressure on sensitive areas and enhances stability on any route.
Your bike saddle is the most crucial contact point between you and your bike. The wrong model can completely undermine your riding experience.
Key question: Is one saddle just as good as another? Absolutely not!
Saddles shouldn’t be chosen based on fashion trends, recommendations, or popularity rankings. They must match the rider’s body type, bike style, and riding posture.
Selle SMP offers an extensive range tailored to different cycling needs—whether road cycling, gravel riding, bike touring, or urban commuting. Comfort isn't a luxury—it’s essential for an enjoyable ride!
A cyclist once came to me desperate—he was about to set off on a journey to Nordkapp, but just a few hours into training, he couldn’t sit on the saddle anymore.
Solution: A saddle replacement and position adjustment. 📩 Outcome: A few days later, he messaged me from Oslo, amazed at how pain-free his ride had become.
Lesson learned: The right bike fitting and saddle choice can transform your journey!
In extreme bikepacking, riders spend long hours in the saddle with heavy loads, while light bike touring allows for a more dynamic posture.
Golden rule: Bike fitting always starts with the rider—your body, your needs. Forget labels—what matters is real-world experience!
"A friend recommended it," "I saw it on Instagram," "It's the best-selling saddle."
Mistake! A bike saddle is a highly personal contact point. ✔️ The perfect saddle for someone else might be a nightmare for you. ✔️ Bike fitting helps you find the right saddle for your body and riding style.
At BAM!, we believe in real experiences, not just information: ✔️ Hop on your bike ✔️ Pedal ✔️ Feel how your body responds
Measurements tell part of the story, but real sensations reveal the rest!

Some stories are shaped by destiny. The bond between Willy Mulonia and Selle SMP is one of them. For nearly 20 years, Willy has taken on challenges that push human limits in long-distance cycling, and Selle SMP has always been by his side. Because true adventure isn’t just about the landscapes—it’s about the transformation within.
Their partnership is built on performance, resilience, and trust, forged through polar expeditions, desert crossings, and relentless winds. Above all, it’s a story of self-discovery and mental toughness, where every pedal stroke is a step toward new dimensions of bikepacking and adventure cycling.
The Iditarod Trail Invitational (ITI) is not just another race—it’s the ultimate test of mental and physical endurance, a battle against extreme cold, solitude, and exhaustion.
Riders follow the Iditarod Trail, the legendary route in Alaska where, in 1925, mushers and sled dogs carried life-saving serum to Nome. Today, that same frozen wilderness is a proving ground for ultra-cyclists and adventure racers, pushing their limits in one of the toughest bikepacking challenges on Earth.
When Willy first faced ITI in 1999, fat bikes, GPS, and high-tech gear didn’t exist. All he had was mental grit, a hunger to test himself, and a drive to find new balance through suffering. "It was reckless—but also deeply necessary."
Since then, every ITI race has become a new evolution—a redefining experience in ultra-endurance cycling.
After 26 years of ultra-endurance riding, filled with failures, silent struggles, and reinventions, Willy reached the legendary Burled Arch in Nome, Alaska—for the third time.
But this time, something was different. It wasn’t just a finish line—it was the start of something greater. Every kilometer, every brutal challenge, every bikepacking expedition had laid the foundation for a new horizon—an unexplored future in adventure cycling. "True victory isn’t found in applause. It’s found in looking within and recognizing the rider you’ve become."
Because the essence of adventure? It’s never just personal. Real milestones are shared, earned, and lived together.
The biggest challenge in endurance cycling isn’t the cold, the terrain, or the distance—it’s your mindset.
Many assume that the greatest obstacle in ITI is Alaska’s brutal conditions, but the truth is, the hardest fight happens before the ride even starts. "Every challenge begins long before the first pedal stroke—on the days when no one is watching, when you battle yourself and prepare for survival."
Because when the cold breaks you, fatigue drains you, and everything inside screams ‘Stop!’, the only thing that can keep you going is mental resilience. And that’s where every ride is won—or lost.
Fear is part of the process. In fact, it’s the sign that something truly matters to you. "Don’t wait until fear disappears—that moment will never come."
You either learn to embrace it, or you stay where you are. The choice is yours.
Every bikepacking adventure, ultra-distance race, and endurance challenge begins right now. "Tomorrow isn’t the place where you realize what you could have done. It’s where you reap the rewards of what you had the courage to begin today."
And if there’s one thing Willy Mulonia has proven, it’s that true adventure never truly ends. Because the greatest journey? It’s the one that keeps pushing us beyond limits, beyond fear, toward new horizons.
Some stories are shaped by destiny. The bond between Willy Mulonia and Selle SMP is one of them.
